Post offices should close. In the age of the Internet, they are no longer necessary.
Communication is today very important and we have various ways to communicate with each others. We can send a letter or we can text an e-mail. Some people think that Internet is more useful than post offices, but others disagree and think that it is important to keep post offices open.
To begin with, we live in a world in which is hard to imagine live without computer and Internet. Internet makes our lives easier. We do not have to buy post mark and carry the letter to the post office, we can just text e-mail and it will be sent immediately.
Secondly, people can pay their bills at any time at any place over the Internet without going to the post office. It is even possible to shop over the Internet. That saves our time.
Finally, emailing saves paper. For that reason, Internet communication is good for environmental. It also saves petrol. And what is the best, Internet communication is very cheap or even free.
However, for every plus there is a minus. Even though we live in time of computers, there are many people who do not have computer and access to Internet. Post offices are still important in the community.
Secondly, internet shopping is very popular today. If you buy things from web sites, somebody has to deliver them. In that case, post offices can not be replaced.
Another major argument against closing the post offices is that if we close them, many people will lose their job. That would be bad for the economy.
To sum up, Internet communication and also post offices have both advantages and disadvantages. In my opinion, post offices are loosing their role in our lives. Internet is future and I think that post offices will soon disappear.
