Some teenagers like to be trendy and will buy/ listen to / eat what is popular at the moment. Others like to be different from other people,as well as being part of a group such as Goths and Freaks.
These days we are becoming witnesses of a massive trend changing process, which is connected with the progress of technology. While some people create their own opinion and attitude against these new trends, others follow them without any criticism. So, in this essay I am going to analyse both sides of different social groups.
As we all know, teenagers are a group of people which is more likely to be under the influence of media. They like to buy new things on the market because that represents a sign which brings them popularity. Not only the popularity, the new gadgets will make their life much easier. They don’t need to worry about anything, because with the all new trendy stuff, teenagers know they possess a thing with the best qualities.
On the other hand, being a member of a group, shows that they are able to find something that describes their own qualities in a best way. For instance they don’t need to accommodate and change their lifestyle with every new trend on the market; furthermore they create their own individualistic personality. Teenagers with similar characteristics have the benefit representing themselves to the world in a unique way.
To sum up I believe that people who belong to a group are less under pear pressure than others; they grow their own personal view on the world. Personally I respect more those people, because they are not afraid to show their real opinion, and they don’t follow new trends mindlessly, like sheep.
